Karen Beddow is an eclectic mix of Trustee, Lawyer, Family Travel Writer, Author and Board Member.  Karen left her full time role as a commercial litigation solicitor when her three children were 6 and 5 (twins) to concentrate on her Family Travel blog Mini Travellers. Karen has used her skills developed over 20 years in a professional environment to create and then turn Mini Travellers into an established creative business, that has meant she can work from home and spend more time with her three children. Karen is still a legal consultant and is on the Commercial Board for a city housing association and the Baltic Creative CIC.

Geeth de Mel, Senior Research Scientist, IBM Research Europe

Geeth is a Senior Research Scientist and a manager with IBM Research Europe (UK) based in Daresbury, UK. His research interests are in artificial intelligence — especially in domain-specific knowledge extraction for decision support systems in the presence of (or lack of) dynamicity, trust, and provenance. Currently, he is the global strategy lead for data extraction and validation for new materials discovery within IBM Research’s climate and sustainability research theme. Prior to this, he was a research scientist at IBM Research TJ Watson Research Center (USA) and a postdoctoral researcher at the US Army Research Laboratory. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen (Scotland).

Christopher has worked as a senior film/TV executive for the past 20 years, spearheading development, production and business investment activity for a variety of regional and national screen organisations in the UK and overseas.

He currently heads up the Liverpool City Region Film & TV Production Fund on behalf of Liverpool Film Office – generating deal flow and managing its recent equity investments in popular TV dramas such as the 2022 BAFTA award winning Time starring Sean Bean and Help starring Jodie Comer, as well as The Responder and The Ipcress File.
