Helen Ward joins Torus as Group Organisational Development Director

Following a comprehensive selection process, North West growth and regeneration group, Torus has appointed Helen Ward to the role of Group Organisational Development Director.

A dynamic group with a firm commitment to growing stronger communities through social, economic and commercial activities, this high profile appointment to the leadership team will support the group’s ambitions.

The diverse nature of the group will see Helen leading the organisational development and culture of a 1,500 strong workforce across four distinct entities: landlord, developer, charity and commercial contractor.

“Two key themes are critical to Torus success: people and place,” says Torus Chief Executive, Steve Coffey. “Helen’s people focus coupled with her experience in developing varied workforces, makes her the perfect fit for a growing and ambitious organisation like ours.”

Helen was previously Assistant Director for Organisational Development at Birmingham City Council where she was responsible for developing the culture change framework and delivery of the workforce strategy and organisational values.

With a strong track record of leading on culture change, transformation and workforce development for the private and public sector, Helen’s career also includes an early role as a Psychologist for local government and spent three years as Assistant Director Assurance with the Regulator for Social Housing. Helen said:
