Meet the Team: Alice Lamb, Head of Investment Services, Liverpool LEP

Put a face and a story behind a name. We asked Alice to briefly explain her role in no more than 350 words. So grab a coffee and have a quick read.

I don’t think there are many people that don’t know me or haven’t had a conversation with me over the 17+ years that I have worked in this city for the Liverpool City Region.  As Head of Investment Services for the Liverpool LEP I work across all sectors and the 6 Local Authorities that make up the city region.  We work together to win investment from companies who wish to set up their operation in LCR, we do this by providing business benefits and advantages for the company – demographics, property, support, business introductions, reasons why their company/business can thrive in our location, now and in the future.  I have worked on many large company investments and smaller ones, all crucial to the continuing growth of the area.

What we must never do is stop advancing, innovating and pushing forward to be World Class in all we do.  We achieve this by working with the sectors, deep into the private company strategies, understanding how their growth brings future investment and growth for the LCR.

I have been privileged to witness the seismic changes for the area, from the city winning Capital of Culture, the Liverpool ONE retail project, Baltic Triangle digital growth, Sci-Tech Daresbury and the opening of the Mersey Gateway bridge and many more.  All these projects take time and dedication and of course resources.  I cannot do my job without the collaboration of my colleagues in Local Authorities across LCR. I cannot do my job if I don’t work with the wider DIT teams across the world who make face to face meetings with companies in country on behalf of the UK first and then more focused locations.

So, in a nutshell my role is to network with businesses, to link up with people, to listen to companies and to help meet their needs or help them to understand what they think they need and make it happen.

So, if you fancy a coffee and a chat you can call me, email me or ask one of my friends to introduce you to me.  It’s all about communication! Email me on [email protected]  follow me on Twitter at @AlicelambLEP and connect with me on LinkedIn here.
