Put a face and a story behind a name. We asked Tom to briefly explain his role. So grab a coffee and have a quick read.
I have always been fond of the city of Liverpool, a city offering world class sport, unrivalled cultural heritage and a unique and varied nightlife. As a result, when I was given the opportunity to study geography at the University of Liverpool, I jumped at the chance.
Throughout my studies, I was able to learn more about the many development projects that have taken place across the region, with this investment bringing about jobs and growth for the city. This was no more apparent than in my dissertation where I investigated urban regeneration in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, a project that required me to speak to key stakeholders and conduct detailed statistical analysis.
My statistical knowledge and capabilities were key in me securing a role at Invest Liverpool, skills that I have already been able to put to good use. Whether it be carrying out research into labour costs or properties, the ability to apply my skills so soon after graduating from university is something that I have relished, especially when it has such positive results for the city region.
I am an avid football fan, whether it be through coaching, playing or watching my hometown team Northampton Town. Travelling across the country as a supporter, though, has reinforced how fortunate I am to live in a city like Liverpool – no other town or city quite compares.
So that’s a little bit about me and what I do, thank you for taking the time to have a read and if you have any questions regarding opportunities within Liverpool City Region feel free to get in touch – email me at [email protected]
